How do we create our own alphabet?

Give your alphabet a name, choose its language, picture topic and colours. Look at the first picture together and write what your child calls it. For example, Hungarian “autó” goes under A and “kocsi” under K. Save your choice with the Add it button.

If the letter already has a picture, you will see the old and new pictures side by side. Choose which one stays; we skip the other for the current round and continue with the next picture.

How do I save it and continue later?

Successfully added pictures and words are saved immediately. A word you haven't submitted is not saved. When you create an alphabet, you receive a private edit link: copy it, download it as a text file or bookmark it. If email is available, you can send it to yourself.

The edit link also works on another device. There is no account or password: the link is the key to your alphabet.

I lost the link. Can you recover it?

No. We cannot replace a lost edit link or search for alphabets by name. We don't keep a record of which alphabet belongs to whom. If ten alphabets were named “István's alphabet”, we would not know which was yours.

We save the alphabet's contents, but no owner's name or email address. Check your bookmarks, downloaded link file, emails and browsing history. A view-only link cannot be converted to an edit link.

What should I send to my family?

Use the separate view-only link, which allows viewing and printing. Only share the private edit link with someone you also trust to edit and delete the alphabet.

What about difficult or rare letters?

Use Choose letters to leave out letters you don't need now. Keep at least one. You can restore an omitted letter later, including its previously saved picture and word. You can also choose a letter inside a word, such as Dz in Hungarian “bodza”.

Your child's word may differ from the library label. A small themed library may not have a suitable picture for every letter; you can switch to the full selection anytime.

How do I print or save a PDF?

Once every included letter has a picture, print the alphabet on an A4 sheet in portrait or landscape. Choose your printer or Save as PDF in the print dialog. If dates or web addresses appear at the edges, turn off the browser's headers and footers.

How can I delete my alphabet?

Open the private edit link, then choose Delete alphabet in Settings. After confirmation, the alphabet also becomes unavailable through the view-only link. There is no undo or recycle bin in the application.

What if I find a problem?

The report form lets you describe what you wanted to do, what happened and any short error code. No name or email address is required. Do not include a private alphabet link or children's personal information. Read about fixes in the change history .
